A38 - Ivybridge to Tamar Bridge - Tons of litter

Reported anonymously at 10:50, Friday 19 February 2021

The A38 between Ivybridge and the Tamar Bridge is heavily fouled with litter of every description which seems to have grown exponentially as of late. All forms of plastic detritus and scrap metal can be seen on East and West bound carriageways as well as the central reservation. Can you please advise me as to what Highways England propose to do to clear up this growing eyesore in our beautiful county. The A38 in the mentioned section is now an eyesore and not only myself but a number of my friends and colleagues have also raised concern at the status of this highway. Some of the waste in the form of large plastic sheeting can also be deemed a hazard to traffic on windy days, it being free to move. I will also contact our area MP Gary Streeter to keep him in the loop and to have his assistance in closing this matter out. I really do hope that something can be done to improve matters this year and certainly before the tourist season starts. I look forward to hearing further from Highways England with regards to this matter.
