There is a huge deep pot hole on the a5 just passed the atherstone turning. I nearly lost control of my car as I went over it. You don’t see it until your literally on top of it.
I am writing to report a pothole which caused a puncture to our car whilst on holiday in your area.
At approximately 10.15 am on Monday 17th August 2020, I was travelling on the A5 between Lichfield (WS14 0QP) towards the Snow Dome, Tamworth B79 7ND with my family and our luggage in the car when the car hit a pot hole along the A5 stretch before the retail park, unavoidable due to other traffic. This instantly caused a puncture in the front offside tyre (my VW Golf tyre pressure alarm came on) and we were lucky enough to make it into Sainsbury's car park safely to change to the spare tyre.
This was most inconvenient (and dangerous) as we had to unpack all of our luggage onto the car park spaces, change the tyre and ensure our children were safe whilst waiting. Luckily, we managed to contact One Stop Tyre Centre, B77 1AG and they were able to supply and fit us with a new tyre. Costing, £45 (plus a £5 tip for fitting us in so quickly).
We were then able to drive back home to Cornwall.
I am both reporting this so that no other drivers are put into danger and also to be forwarded to your claim team for reimbursement of the cost to us please.
