Refreshed road marking is incorrect

I’ve been reporting the issue of illegible road markings on the entrance to the A52 “Nottingham Knight” roundabout since 2014. The markings are on the entrance from the A60. Recently these markings have been refreshed. I don’t know whether Highways England are responsible for this or Nottinghamshire County Council but NCC have told me that based on a grainy Google Map photo, the refreshed arrow is correct and to check the correct operation of the roundabout with you. Since around the mid-nineties the centre lane arrow showed the appropriate use for ahead and right. This matches the lanes on the roundabout. The layout hasn’t changed, however, the refreshed centre lane arrow now only shows ahead. This potentially leads to drivers switching lanes on exiting the roundabout A52W as they are unaware two lanes are designated for traffic to travel through the roundabout.

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report. During the review our inspector believes that the road markings are correct based on the road layout and that although the road markings are slightly faded they are still visible enough at this time.
