Dangerous lane confusion
Reported via mobile in the Road markings category anonymously at 19:30, Saturday 17 October 2020
Sent to Highways England less than a minute later
Coming from the a6108 over scotch corner roundabout to join the a1 northbound.
The road markings signal that the middle and right lane can go straight on over to the a1 as illustrated by the red and blue lines. Therefore only in the right lane can you keep going right towards services to the right of the picture.
Almost daily I am faced with drivers in the left lane (red) trying to go to the right. Today almost caused an incident when a driver in the red lane tried to cut in front of me. I was I. The blue lane going straight on.
This is a constant issue and has been since the world was carried out.
Please can the road marking be made clearer or some clarification be provided.
