Timings of Traffic Signals

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 13:50, Mon 2 November 2020

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later

Customer reporting timing issue with lights at junction of West Drive and Amounderness Way. We have made some tweaks to the timings and these have made it worse. Traffic on the main road sits there for what seems like forever whilst the side streets are empty. Eactly the opposite of what it was doing before. Timings need looking at again.

  • Issue persists , I waste 4 minutes each time I pass through these lights waiting for them to change.

Appears the sensing system is broken and is on a fixed timer.

    Please resolve this issue.

4 months now it's been like this.

  • I concur with the previous reporter, these timings need sorting, particularly the westbound flow. There is little to no traffic and yet they stay in green for minutes. I’d suggest the sensors in the tarmac are to blame on West drive. Please resolve ASAP

  • The reported problem with timing has not been resolved. Previous reports appear to have been ignored. The problem causes traffic build up which causes unneccesary air pollution from traffic standing for minutes when no vehicles are passing through green lights. On the filter lane lane southbound, turning right into West Drive the timing causes traffic to build up so it backs up onto the main carriageway creating the risk of a serious accident from fast approaching traffic.

  • These lights currently all out

  • Despite previous reports the timing problem has not been fixed. On 9 December 2020 your Operational Technology Service Management team advised that sensors were damaged during a resurfacing scheme. This is currently under review for rectification. Four months on what progress has been made with this "review". To my knowledge there has been no resurfacing scheme since the new junction was created. WHAT IS GOING ON.
