Reported via mobile in the Street lighting category anonymously at 16:49, Sun 22 November 2020

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later

Several streetlights intended to illuminate the signal controlled junction and pedestrian crossings at the A449/School Lane/Old Stafford Road junction are out. Very dark junction on a busy, high speed junction in a village location. Please can this be fixed ASAP?

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England about the street lights on the A449.

The lighting in this area is suffering with issues with lanterns and the ballasts. Unfortunately this isn't a quick fix and we need to undertake a major scheme to repairs these faults. We're currently trying to secure funding for the major lighting repairs but this may take a while with all of the immediate budget already committed to other work.

We will provide a further update to confirm when the work has been completed.

    Kind regards Highways England
