Misleading new markings causing confusion

Since the recent works here the lane markings on the roundabout have been altered. When you are exiting the M20 westbound and approaching the roundabout, there are 3 lanes. One goes only left towards West Malling. The other two enter the roundabout and are for travellers going North on the A228 towards Rochester. However, the new road markings on the roundabout make it appear that you would need to be in only the right lane of the slip road if you want to go into either of the two lanes on the roundabout that are for Rochester. This makes no sense, as clearly the second from the right lane on the slip road is also for Rochester - why would there be a lane coming off the motorway that was for crossing the roundabout and rejoining the motorway? As a consequence of the new, ambiguous road markings, drivers are crossing lanes at this point on the roundabout much more than they were before.
