Yellow Box Junction markings faded

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later

The yellow markings have almost disappeared resulting in traffic approaching from the south and turning east onto Southampton Road blocking the southbound traffic trying to cross the roundabout

  • Thank you for your report via FixMyStreet of 27 November.

    We’re not going to be replacing the yellow box markings on the roundabout as per guidance in Section 6.9.1 of Chapter 5 -Traffic Signs Manual: ‘Schedule 9 General Direction 9 prohibits the use of yellow box markings on roundabouts unless the entry of traffic is under full time signal control on that part of the roundabout where the marking is to be provided. This is because a circulating vehicle has priority over those entering’.

  • Southampton road salisbury, Forest traffic management operative carrying traffic lights, dropping off a set at Tesco roundabout, then driving off with tail lift down with other traffic lights on board and not strapped down driving 40mph to tollgate rd on a nightly basis from 20.00pm, this operative is either going to injure or kill someone or a family, negligence is no excuse after a death has happened, I find this operative very irresponsible, he should not be allowed his tickets in sorry to say.
