Sent to Highways England less than a minute later

There's been standing water across the A66 stainburn bypass Workington for at least 2 weeks. It's really. It's very dangerous at the moment as it's freezing and extremely slippy under tyre

Updates

  • Yesterday (Jan 2nd '21) the standing water reported earlier this week was was again completely frozen across both carriageways causing treacherous conditions. The affected area is unsighted whilst travelling eastbound up the hill from Stainburn roundabout. My son's car skidded on the untreated surface and flipped over causing a major and significant accident. His insurance company will be in contact with you directly. Regards
