Several street lights not working

Reported via desktop in the Street lighting category anonymously at 10:36, Friday 8 January 2021

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later

Hi. I would like to report several lights that are not working along the A47 Acle Straight leading to Great Yarmouth. Most of the lights are not working half way down on the bend at Stracey Arms and it won't let me report 2 faults at the same time on the graph but several street lights are also not working at the bottom of the Acle Straight on the last bend, at the Great Yarmouth roundabout and along where the Vauxhall Holiday camp is situated leading up to the roundabout. Thank you.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England. I can confirm that we are aware of the issues regarding lighting on the A47. These issues are due to the SOX lighting equipment which is no longer being manufactured. Unfortunately, this has had an impact on maintenance but we are trying to maintain as many units as possible. We do have schemes in the forward programme for replacement lighting along the A47, as well as the A14 and A1, and we have just confirmed the specification for a new LED lantern to be used on the majority of SOX areas which will mimic the SOX lanterns. We are just checking that the current columns are suitable or whether further intervention is required before we look to upgrade.

These LED lanterns have been ordered and we are starting to receive the stock. We will start to target problem areas to repair outages.

    Kind Regards Highways Engalnd
