Changing of lane signage for exit
Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 20:58, Fri 8 January 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2468453.
The road signs travelling towards junction 5 of the M6 from spitfire island have changed. Without warning the left hand lane was changed to M6 only, not to the A452 and M6 like before. Road users cannot see the signs on the floor due to heavy congestion, and there are near miss accidents every day! I have had multiple near misses as people now do not realise that the middle lane is for A452 and the left, M6 only. It is getting so dangerous, people in the left lane forcing their way to the A452 nearly causing accident and bibbing car horns at road users who are in the right lane. It needs to be sorted, either put back as before, or lane signs further up the road!

This a problem still occurring today- like person reported in January there are hundreds of near accidents everyday- can highways England not get involved and work with the council to rectify this?
