Changing of lane signs causing near miss accidents!
Reported via mobile in the Road markings category anonymously at 20:59, Friday 8 January 2021
Sent to Highways England less than a minute later
The road signs travelling towards junction 5 of the M6 from spitfire island have changed. Without warning the left hand lane was changed to M6 only, not to the A452 and M6 like before. Road users cannot see the signs on the floor due to heavy congestion, and there are near miss accidents every day! I have had multiple near misses as people now do not realise that the middle lane is for A452 and the left, M6 only. It is getting so dangerous, people in the left lane forcing their way to the A452 nearly causing accident and bibbing car horns at road users who are in the right lane. It needs to be sorted, either put back as before, or clear lane signs further up the road!
Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report.
This report does not relate to Highways England works. Its Birmingham City Council that have been undertaking works on their network from Spitfire roundabout to the M6.
