  • Thank you for contacting Highways England with regards to unlit roadworks on the M11.

    There was an interim advice note published that allows the removal of lamps from longitudinal runs of coning on temporary non-standard lane closures. This does need to be risk assessed on site each shift, but providing the weather conditions are fair, and the lane closure meets temporary/off peak standards, this is now normal practice.
