Drain parallel to A1 is blocked and spilling on to adjacent building site causing flooding and structural issues

Drain parallel to Northbound A1 is full of water, spilling over and flooding on to property and building site immediately adjacent (off Stephenson Way, Newark - to the Southwest of the A1).

Suspect the drain is blocked at one of the culverted positions.

  • Following a large amount of rain overnight, surface water from the A1 is spilling over from the adjacent drainage ditch and flooding on to property and building site immediately adjacent (off Stephenson Way, Newark).

    Please urgently investigate and rectify a potential blockage to prevent further migration of surface water from the A1 onto adjacent land.

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report.

    Our inspector visited the location and agrees that remedial work is needed to ensure the safety of road users.

    As such, a repair is planned, and we aim to complete this no later than Fri 10 Mar 21.

    Although we always aim to complete the repairs as planned, the date may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

    We will provide a further update to confirm when the work has been completed or, in exceptional circumstances, a revised date.
