Request for larger "No HGVs" sign.

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later
Dear Sir, I write on behalf of Lockington - Hemington Parish Council. Last October you reorientated two 7.5 ton signs at the A50/Rycroft Road exit on the island. This resulted in a MASSIVE improvement in HGVs entering our village. The few that are still coming through are almost always foreign drivers no doubt following their Satnavs. Please could you replace the tiny blue "NO HGVs" sign with a much LARGER and PROMINENT similar sign, incorporating the widely recognised "ignore Satnav" motif? If push came to shove, the Parish Council would be prepared to consider providing and fitting a sign ourselves....
Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report. A request for signs that affect a road that is not maintained by Highways England should be directed to the local Highway Authority who should in turn contact Highways England and ask for permission to install signs on our network. The enforcement issue surrounding this type of matter is a something for the Police to look into.
We will continue to review this and will arrange any required work if the situation changes.
