New LED street lights have been recently erected on both sides of the A36 Churchill Way North, Salisbury and the lights are on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the old street light are also on at night. These new LED lights are a light nuisance and should not be on 24 hours night and day. Also they are not 'dimmed' during the late hours of the night. At night, there is unacceptable light pollution and bright reflection of light from the road surface. The LED street light at the bottom of my back garden gives out considerable light spill, road reflection and light pollution at night into my back garden and other neighbour's gardens. It has also been fitted so that the fitment is not straight (but this is not the cause of the LED light pollution in my back garden). I look forward to your reply.
Many thanks

Thank you for your patience whilst we looked into your report.
We can confirm that the new streetlighting in this area is not operating as designed. Works in the area are still ongoing to rectify this issue. The problem has been generated by the new lights not communicating correctly with the central management system (CMS). This CMS controls the switch on and off of a series of lights based on ambient lighting and also controls the dimming functionality for periods of low demand at night. The manufacturer has been on site to investigate this last week and we are anticipating a solution shortly. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience the new lighting is causing, rest assured this will be sorted once the manufacturer is able to solve the issue with communication. In terms of the old lighting, this is planned for removal shortly.
