Walking on pavement on Burbage side between Three Pots and Logix Business Park

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath issue category anonymously at 11:27, Thursday 11 February 2021

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later

It is becoming increasingly dangerous to walk/run on Burbage side of pavement on A5. The pavement is overgrown with soil in places leaving only 50/60cms gap between vegetation on one side and A5 trunk road on the other. Coupled with lorries/cars/motorbikes exceeding 40mph speed limit it makes walking dangerous and a lottery before someone is hurt. Solution is clear the pavement making walking safe and install a speed camera on this section of A5

Updates

  • Highways Dept rang me to advise that someone had driven past the path and considered it was safe to walk and ride on. With heavy lorries using that road close to the pavement I disagreed with their view and as requested will be submitting photographs. Pleased and grateful that Highways had noted the problem and taken the trouble to ring me.
