Lights facing wrong direction

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 14:01, Sunday 14 February 2021

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later

Have noticed that some traffic lights at Norcross island have slightly “rotated” and as such are pointing at the wrong traffic queue. Particularly, the southbound A585 feed into the island, together with the Norcross feed towards Fleetwood Rd South (dir Thornton). Peter Mathews, Thornton-Cleveleys (07486 607191)

  • Traffic signal 45 on the roundabout exiting to Fleetwood Road towards Fleetwood is pointing in the wrong direction and has been since the roundabout re-opened. Traffic approaching it from the south faces a green light that is actually for Amounderness Way southbound from Anchorsholme and the correct light faces onto the roundabout. Given the confusion with the lanes drivers do not see the signal on the right and see a green light in front of them duplicated with the green lights for the pelican crossing at the beginning of Fleetwood Road. I have witnessed many near misses at this point and a serious accident will occur if it is not fixed.

  • This has been passed to our contractor to rectify, traffic light 45 and traffic light 39a both need turning to the correct position.

    State changed to: In progress
