Litter on a4 when approaching bath

We are not residents of Bath but do use the A4 when visiting. Last week we had to attend R.U.H. and both my wife and I were appalled by the state of one particular stretch of the A4 on our way into Bath from Wiltshire. The stretch in question is the dual carriageway that runs alongside the railway between the roundabout (Box Road, London Road East and Bradford Road) and the large traffic-light controlled roundabout (London Road West, A4 and A46). We have never seen such a disgusting state of affairs - multiple types of litter, plastic, cardboard, bottles, etc. Bath is a World Heritage City and deserves better than this mass of detritus. What visitors must think as they travel into Bath doesn't bear thinking about. We know you probably don't get many visitors at present owing to the pandemic but is that any reason not to maintain a clean approach to a beautiful city? As past residents of Bath we always took pride in the way the city kept itself in good condition but these days...?
