Sent to Highways England less than a minute later
As a key worker returning from Wakefield to Stamford Bridge to find the A64 closed, taken off at the first junction eastbound. I tried to find my way back to the A64 to continue my journey, I didn’t find any diversion signs to get me to me destination, just more road closed signs. As a female on my own this was quite disconcerting trying to find my way on dark country roads. Please please please provide direction to get back onto the A64 to continue my journey past Tadcaster! After a 10 hour shift to try and negotiate the dark roads it was quite distressing. I appreciate the work you are doing but please understand the roads surrounding the A64 are dark, quiet and unforgiving after a long day and trying to utilise a map on your own is stressful at the best of times. Please just provide diversion signs to get you back onto the A64. Thank you.
Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report. After passing on the information regarding the diversion signs not being adequate, the supervisor has advised that all signage for this work is in place and adequate for the works taking place. We will continue to review this and will arrange any required work if the situation changes.
