During the last two nights ILLEGAL tree felling has occurred here devastating the wooded banks. THIS IS NESTING SEASON! The local MP is being informed.

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England. concerning the tree works along the A36.

    The larger trees felled had root plate heave and as such were dangerous to both the driving public and the local resident’s. The stumps have been left to regenerate. The hazel was coppiced as per standard coppice management process or as part of a visual splay improvement for safety. All the works were supervised by an Ecologist.

    The area has also been highlighted for a ‘phase two’ planting plan, in order to improve the species mix and to increase the bio-diversity.
