Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

Multiple instances of flytipping along this stretch of the A1, particularly southbounds but also north. Local authority is Peterborough City Council who advise that this stretch of the A1 is the responsibility of Highways England

  • If Peterborough City council have told you it is Highways England responsibility then they are lying. Highways England are responsible for clearing litter on all M roads (Motorways) and a few trunk roads. This can be found on their litter strategy that is in the link provided: government/ publications/ highways-england-litter-strategy The rest of the roads is the responsibility of local councils. As this area is within PCC boundary it is their responsibility to clear it. You should send Highways England's litter strategy to PCC and demand they take responsibility.
