Traffic light timing halting traffic on 595 when no traffic wanting to emerge from Sellafield road. Traffic backing up, issues with noise , emissions, access, and frustrated vehicles accelerating away after pointless delays. Our house subject to constant noise and vibration.

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2662768.
Lights stopping traffic needlessly on main road for long periods. Noise, emissions, access issues and frustrated motorists accelerating hard to get away once lights do eventually change. Timing seems erratic but has created very significant issues for no obvious reason, especially for those of us living near the lights. It is a relatively recent issue, but is now, at times, difficult to bear.

Lights allowing only three or four cars before going red again. No traffic needing to emerge from Sellafield road, but constant, unnecessary tailback on A595. Ridiculous congestion of traffic that normally flows fine. What is going on?

Tuesday 13/4/21 12.10. Lights doing the same again. Wholly unnecessary stopping and backing up of traffic on A595 even when no traffic looking to emerge from Sellafield road. Again frustrated drivers accelerating hard when lights do change, noise, fumes, congestion and problems with access/ egress at our property. Is anything being done about this? It is causing completely unnecessary problems for road users and residents.

Problem absolutely no better, in fact worse. Traffic on A595 backing up for no reason at all and extended priority given to Sellafield road when zero traffic on it. Drivers regularly now ignoring the red light in frustration and regular near misses observed. Only a matter of time before there is a serious accident. Afternoon and evening particularly conspicuously bad and traffic still being stopped well after 11.00 pm. Is anyone interested in this at all?

After two days of fewer problems lights choose a Saturday afternoon ( when traffic from Sellafield road is almost zero) to revert to constant red light on A595. As many as 6/8 cars a minute now ignoring the red light in the perfectly reasonable belief that it is defective. There is no credible reason to cause such back-ups and delays. Will somebody PLEASE take an interest and actually do something about this?

22.56 Saturday 24/4/21 lights still stopping traffic causing back up and noise for no reason whatsoever. Issue first reported on 9/4/21; why has nothing been done and no explanation been forthcoming after being promised?

Lights still causing wholly unnecessary delays and - surprise, surprise- no contact or explanation in the 15 days promised in the course of a phone conversation. Another organisation that doesn’t do remotely what it says it will....
