  • Thank you for contacting Highways England about the condition of the M2 carriageway at this location.

I’ve asked our safety inspector to provide comment on the condition of the location. Whilst we are aware of poor conditions here, he’s confirmed that the condition does not constitute a safety defect which requires any immediate intervention, however, we do acknowledge your comments and please be assured that we are continuing to monitor this location under our weekly safety inspections.

With the assistance of our safety inspectors, we've requested a future scheme of permanent resurfacing works to address the condition. At the time of writing, I do not have a confirmation of date for these works, however we will continue to report any surface or safety defects here for temporary works ahead of the aforementioned scheme.

    Kind regards Highways England
