Lack of trees - alongside A30 - noise reduction
Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 11:18, Tue 27 April 2021

Short sections of A30 between Pool and Tolgus lack sufficient trees on the side of the highway so the drone of traffic can be heard 2 miles away in Illogan Try using gorse - as you have cut down lots of trees on the highway in recent years In the rush hours - with wind from South West - all we hear is the drone of cars and trucks
Perhaps better when we are all electric

Thank you for contacting Highways England about lack of trees along the A30 between Pool and Tolgus.
We'll review planting need alongside A30 between Pool and Tolgus as part of our post scheme monitoring for the pine removals scheme done a couple of years ago at this location. The aim being to address gap filling for screen planting where this meets our landscape element objectives.
We can aim to do this during the coming autumn / winter, barring any unforeseen delays.
We hope this answers your enquiry. If you have any further queries, please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@highwaysengland.co.uk
