Turn right lane poor marking will cause a road accident

Reported via desktop in the Road markings category anonymously at 13:29, Friday 30 April 2021

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later

This junction has been in place for several years without any problems in my experience. I use it every day. However, recently when making the right turn from the Nottingham bound A52 towards Toton I have almost been hit 3 times by cars. These cars have started turning right from the centre lane of the three in the approach to the island. This is extremely dangerous as cars in the correct right hand turn lane have no visibility of a car turning from the centre lane. I think that the markings are now so worn that drivers are not clear which lane they should be in. It essential that the marking is fixed ASAP and consideration should also be given to improving the signage.

  • I now notice that this was reported as long ago as February and we are now in May. Can you give an indication of the timescale please?

  • Lane markings described above have still not been repainted. When is this likely to happen? My friend had to take evasive action today to avoid a collision.
