Any progress on the 50mph section that no one is following as it has been here so long? Your last response was work to start in April, it is now late May.

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England regarding response to the works previously provided.

I can confirm that we were meant to start works at Central Interchange (A14, Junction 43 – Eastbound) in April 2021.

Unfortunately due to circumstances out of my control, Roadspace issues and other works close to this junction on the A14 we had to put them back.

I can however inform you that we are programmed and confirmed to start works here on Monday 14th June 2021. The works will be carried out under full Eastbound closures at Junction 43 every night and will last 3 weeks. (Last shift is Friday 2nd July 2021) the diversion for the works is a standard down and up at the interchange.

    The works include:

    • New approach & departure safety barrier • New Parapet upgrade (West structure) • Vegetation cut back • Removal of Varioguard barrier • Resurfacing & associated white lining • New Bridge expansion Joints (both structures)

Thank you again for your report and i hope this helps with your enquiry.

    Kind Regards Highways England

State changed to: No further action
