Thank you for contacting Highways England about A5/A43 road markings. Please accept my sincere apologies in responding to your enquiry. We are aware of this and a scheme is planned to remark the area in 2022/2023. In the meantime our inspector continues to monitor the location on her weekly safety patrols. She will arrange for any immediate repairs that need to be done.
We will provide a further update to confirm when the work has been completed.
Kind regards Highways England

Please note that since posted in May and after a lengthy period with barely visible or not visible markings, most but not all lane markings were replaced, with some improvement to the chaotic operation of this roundabout. However, the markings leading off the roundabout direction A43 Northampton were not reinstated and here 3 lanes merge quite precariously (even with markings) into 2. As a regular user of this junction, I find the lack of markings on this section a constant risk. Aside from that, with a single HGV on the roundabout, only 1 vehicle can be accommodated on each phase without rear end sticking out into the traffic flow. Without HGV 3 cars max. From A5 south turning A43 east, the lanes do not function safely with regular risk of being "rear-ended" by cars travelling north on the A5.
