Height of grass obstructing exit from Thornhaugh

Reported via mobile in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) category anonymously at 23:08, Tuesday 15 June 2021

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later

The exit from Thornhaugh onto the A1 Northbound is severely obstructed by the height of the grass verge making it difficult to see traffic on the motorway. The exit is dangerous already because there is no slip road, being unable to see upcoming traffic makes it extremely dangerous and needs VERY URGENT attention please

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England about the long grass obstructing exit from Thornhaugh.

We carry out regular inspections of all our roads and cut back the vegetation where we find that it is limiting visibility of road signs, traffic signals or the view ahead. Your concerns have been passed to our maintenance team and works are planned for 2 July.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Kind regards Highways England
