New sign A66

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later
Last week you placed a new road sign on the left hand side of the road opposite walk mill warcop on the A66 stating road improvements at Appleby bypass. In the last week I have had 2 near accidents waiting to turn into my parents house on the opposite side of the road with vehicles looking at the sign and not seeing me indicate, there are 2 right hand junctions opposite the sign one been walk mill and one been the hayber centre that has customers going. This sign is also placed at an accident black spot just before warcop bends. Is this sign permanent ? If so who was responsible for placing it there as it needs looking at before an accident happens. Thank you
Thank you for contacting Highways England to raise your concerns about the positioning of a sign on the A66 at Warcop. The sign is not permanent, but will be in place until the end of the Appleby bypass resurfacing scheme in November). The project manager has advised that she will arrange for a traffic management sign to be put out slightly further back to warn traffic of vehicles turning.
