There is something you are not telling us and we do not know what it is. I have emailed you before on this. Why do you keep on closing/coning off the laybys on the A11 between Thetford and Attleborough. Elderly motorists like me and other drivers find great comfort in having these laybys in case of mechanical problems or breakdown. There is no hard shoulder as you know. It is time to try and get some publicity for this on Look East or in the EDP. Please let me know why please. It is really annoying.

I see the cones have been removed and the lay bys are open again. Yesterday one had the RAC attending a breakdown and in another there was the AA doing the same. These lay bys are a vital place of safety in times of mechanical problems as there are no hard shoulders. You still have not explained why you keep closing them. Do I have to submit a Freedom Of Information request or shall I try to get some publicity from the EDP or Look East ? Why don't you respond properly ? Geoffrey Reeve geoff@geoffreeve.com

Dear Mr Reeve
Thank you for contacting our Customer Contact Centre on 24 June regarding the closed laybys on the A11.
I am sorry to hear about your frustrations about the laybys being closed on the A11. Work was being undertaken between the Snetterton junction and Attleborough on the A11. This work was completed under a full closure between 8pm and 6am.
For the duration of these works the laybys were closed to prevent vehicles parking up and becoming trapped within the road closures.
This is for the safety of both road users and our operatives. The work has been completed and the laybys are now open.
Thank you again for contacting us, I hope you find my response helpful.
Kind regards Ellie
