Entering a303 heading east one expects to enter a slip road before filtering onto the carriageway but there is no slip road. Instead you SUDDENLY find yourself on the main carriageway as a sitting duck for fast moving traffic. It is the MOST DANGEROUS ACCESS POINT I HAVE EVER SEEN . Urgent works are needed. At a minimum, bold warning signage and a stop line across the road junction. Best would be the construction of a proper slipway on entering the a303 main carriageway. Suitable work should be carried out URGENTLY before there isa major incident and death.

Thank you for contacting Highways England.
We are aware of the slip road you have mentioned.
When considering where to make improvements to our roads, we take collision data into account so we can prioritise the areas of greatest need.
Looking at the collision data for this location, there has only been one shunt collision since 1994, which happened in 2004 between 2 vehicles waiting to join the A303. We therefore wouldn’t look to make any changes to the slip road here at this time.
We understand your concerns and will continue to monitor this location, as we do with the rest of our network. If a safety issue becomes apparent, we’ll look at this location again.
