Sent to Highways England less than a minute later
The footpath is blocked by overhanging trees. It’s adjacent to the pedestrian crossing to the east of the roundabout. It’s a shared footpath/cycle lane. I use this footpath at least four times a week. I’m particularly concerned as I’m registered blind and on occasions I’ve had to step in to the road to avoid other pedestrians & cyclists. It’s incredibly dangerous for me.
Thank you for contacting Highways England regarding, overgrown vegetation along the footpaths and cycle lane.
Our Safety Inspector are aware of this after their weekly footpath inspection recently and we're currently writing to residents in the area for cuts to be carried out. Hope you notice an improvement along the footpaths.
We continue to monitor vegetation growth during our weekly inspections, when any safety issues will be raised for urgent mitigation.
Kind regards Highways England
