Sent to Highways England less than a minute later
Again go.from m4 West to m5 South says congestion went down to 40?? For then 3 gantries up go back.up to national speed limit your slowing people up for no reason causing a que in the first place?? Happence all the time here like have no idea what doing. Other day the m4 at Bristol going east said stranded car so out every one down to 40 on the speed camra funny enough yet a mile.up the road the car was stranded but before the car you stuck every one back up to 60! Like.just trying catch people for the sake of it!! Like though out last year during lock down no car on the roads at all and you had all the signs up saying 50!! Why??? Just to piss people off that actually had to work?? That had to delivery to people who need it but yet.got slown down by you. Yes I can understand one or two days of testing but nearly hole 4 months??? Been a joke even since. Think really need to look at who running the system as they cause more off and issue making que when not necessary. Yes ment slow people down before getting to the insedent but more than not there is no insident just make it up as you go along I think.

Thank you for your fixmystreet report about queuing traffic signals displayed on your journey on the M5 southbound. We appreciate you taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention.
On certain sections of our motorway, we have sensors embedded into the carriageway surface.
When these sensors detect slow moving traffic, they automatically set signs on the overhead gantries warning road users of queuing traffic and to help safely manage the flow of traffic on the motorway.
This is what we believe you experienced at the time of your journey.
We hope this answers your enquiry. If you require any further update on this issue our Customer Contact Centre is available 24 hours a day at: • 0300 123 5000
