Repeated flooding, making road under A12 impassable.

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later
We have had repeated flooding of this road in recent weeks, making the main route in/out of Capel impassable. I suspect that the pump has failed, as it did some years ago. Last week, an ambulance called out for a baby couldn't get through, and had to travel indirectly. This could cost a life.
Flooded again due to overnight rain. This is 4th day in a row, as it's drained/reflooded since the 1st July. The open slotted drain gulley for the drains are blocked and not being cleared.

Thank you for contacting Highways England.
We are aware of the disruption the flooding has caused, and our contractor has been investigating the reasons why the pump did not work as it should have. An intermittent fault with wiring in the terminal box has been identified as the probable cause and a fix has now been made. This fault appeared to cause the failure of the pumps to engage. Although tests show the pump is now working correctly, in order to ensure there are no future reoccurrences of the failure, we will be arranging to replace the junction box and any older wiring as a priority.
Kind Regards Highways England
