Altered road markings

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later
The surface of the motorway bridge has recently been resurfaced but the lane road markings have been changed . The centre lane (lane 2) now shows an arrow pointing only to M1 north bound whilst before it showed optional straight forward AND M1 northbound. I live on Royston close and therefore have to be in the centre lane for me to safely make a right turn immediately after the roundabout. As it stands I will need to use lane 1 with the high risk of being side swipe by traffic using lane 2 to go straight forward when I make my right turn onto Royston Close. This happened a few years back and it was changed but only after I complained.

Thank you for contacting Highways England with regards to the road markings on the Carr Gate bridge M1 J41. I can advise that the roadmarkings are only partially complete at the moment as we have only worked to half way into the bridge, the full ahead with right turn arrows will be re-instated upon completion of our waterproofing works. We trust this information has been of help to you. For any further information please contact 0300 123 5000 info@highwaysEngland.co.uk. .
