Severe bumps in road - bridge section?
Reported via mobile in the Road surface category anonymously at 11:33, Thursday 22 July 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later
There are two joins in the road on what I believe is a section of bridge. In both directions the bumps experienced when driving over these joins at speed are severe - enough to cause damage to wheels, tyres or suspension in my opinion.
Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report.
Our inspectors have been out to assess this and we believe what you're referring to is the expansion joints on the bridge. During the review our inspectors have driven over the bridge a number of times, we don't feel that this is causing any safety concerns at this time and remedial work isn’t required.
We will continue to review this and will arrange any required work if the situation changes.
