Sent to Highways England less than a minute later
The A66 through Embleton parish, Cumbria, has become a mecca for high speed motorcycles on Sunday afternoons, in the evenings and even overnight. As well as the dangers inherent in this practice, especially on a stretch with 3 county road junctions, farm entrances and 4 public rights of way crossings, the noise is intolerable.
Thank you for taking the time to report your concerns. The section of the A66 passing Embleton village is single carriageway and therefore the national speed limit (60mph) applies. Concerns about speeding vehicles and poor driver behaviour need to be reported to Cumbria Police.
