A large piece of graffiti has appeared on the side of the bridge above the A1307 and A14. It is the only overhead bridge between A14 junctions 24 and 25, and the road on the bridge is Robins Lane. The graffiti reads ‘PRANG WIZARDS’ and faces eastbound, so can be seen when travelling westbound on either the A14 or A1307 on the right hand side of the bridge as you face it. For additional reference the nearest driver locator number is ‘A14 B 89.3’. Graffiti needs cleaning if possible as it is large and unsightly and so it doesn’t attract more. The word ‘prang’ meaning crash is also not exactly tasteful right next to a road. Thank you.
Thank you for contacting Highways England.
I have forwarded your concerns to our maintenance team. Graffiti that is obscene or offensive will either be covered or removed as quickly as possible.
Removal of graffiti may require specialist equipment or lane or road closures to keep our workforce safe. This means that it is not always cost-effective to remove it as it appears. Therefore, graffiti which that is not offensive or obscene will be recorded and removed during the next round of periodic cleaning.
Thank you again for your report.
Kind Regards Highways England
