Dangerous crack in road surface

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

Large crack down centre of road, affects driving, will be dangerous for bikes. Also one road side drain cover needs reseating as it’s sinking and a hole is forming around it.

  • Thank you for contacting Highways England concerning a crack in the A38 carriageway.

    Our inspection team have been to the site and located the issue. This section of the carriageway is due for resurfacing in November.

    We’ll continue to monitor the condition of the carriageway. If it worsens further and becomes a safety concern, we’ll ensure it‘s made safe as quickly as possible.
