Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) category anonymously at 10:07, Wednesday 18 August 2021
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later
The vegetation is overgrown and obscuring sight lines on the roundabouts over the A696 at the Callerton and Kenton Bank Foot interchanges. It is difficult to see if traffic is coming around.
The roundabout outside the entrance to Newcastle Airport is especially bad. It has cycle lanes but they are dangerous to use because of the speed of oncoming traffic and the vegetation on the roundabout means you can't see if anything is approaching until the last minute. It does not allow enough warning if it is safe to pull out or not.
