Dead animal on side of road for over a week. Just before junction
Thank you for contacting Highways England concerning a dead animal side of the road. I appreciate you taking the time to bring this matter to our attention. I appreciate how distressing it can be for our customers to see animal remains lying by the side of the road. We routinely remove such remains when they are found in the live carriageway and always endeavour to repatriate pets if their owners can be identified through microchip implant technology. Animal remains that lie further away from the carriageway itself are more difficult to routinely locate. Such carcasses are therefore only ordinarily removed if they present an ancillary hazard, or danger to public health.
Thank you again for contacting us. If you need any further information about this, please feel free to contact me. For anything else please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or email@example.com, or visit our website at www.highwaysengland.co.uk.
You can also tell us about something wrong on any of our roads by using the Report a Problem page on our website.
To help us identify and make improvements to our responses I would be very grateful if you could please take our feedback survey, by clicking here.
