Damaged mile distance sign, M6, Keele

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue category anonymously at 14:12, Saturday 4 September 2021

Sent to Highways England less than a minute later

There is a damaged mile marker sign (which gives distances to destinations) on the M6 southbound, just south of Keele Services. The sign has peeling letters which have made it illegible and its signposts are heavily rotten/rusted.

Updates

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our inspector reviewed your report.

Our inspector visited the location and agrees that remedial work is needed.

Although we always aim to complete the repairs as soon as possible, the date may change due to unforeseen circumstances, so providing a date for the sign to be repaired or replaced is unrealistic. The sign repair/replacement will need to go through a process to ensure that the new sign is in accordance with the latest and up to date specification.

    Kind regards Highways England
