Several residents living in the village of Beamhurst, which is parallel to the A50 road between Uttoxeter and Stoke-on-Trent, have complained to Croxden Parish Council about longstanding traffic noise on the A50 due to poor surfacing. Residents want this section of the A50 to be resurfaced in order to reduce noise pollution in the village.

The concrete road surface means the noise travels throughout the hamlets of Beamhurst and beyond. We have been made aware funding is not possible to resurface.

Croxden Parish Council has received a response, however we asked further questions about noise "HotSpot" and how they are evaluated and the Parish Council has yet to receive a reply.

Living in Lower Tean its been obvious over the last two years that the noise form the concrete surface is steadily getting louder. No doubt with the proposed improvements to the roundabouts in Uttoxeter there will be more traffic resulting in even more noise!
