26 Sept 2021. Travelling southbound on the A1(M) near jct10 the traffic was diverted off the through route down the slip road to the A507 jct below. Total chaos. The signs at the end of the slip on the A507 roundabout gave directions to A507 East and Services/A507 West but no direction for A1(M) South. Not wishing to end up stuck in a queue for the Services and petrol problems, I continued round the roundabout only to find that Exit 2 (the southbound slip on to the A1(M) was signed Works Traffic Only, no signage to indicate that this was also the route to A1(M) southbound. I could see no way out of the junction so I took this southbound slip in the hope that it would lead me to the A1(M) Southbound, which it did but I was on my own. No-one else had the nerve to take this route until I started the trend then everyone followed. It was clearly the correct decision as I continued my journey without incident. The TM was a total mess and caused untold issues at the junction below and a long unnecessary tailback on the A1(M) southbound on the approach to the junction. Very frustrating as I was unfamiliar with the route and had travelled down from Stamford without incident.
